We believe the Bible is God’s, perfect, sufficient and authoritative Word. As a church, we commit to sitting humbly under the preaching and teaching of Scripture and seeking to apply it in every area of life.

We want to grow as a praying church, praying personally and corporately, asking God to work in us and through us for His glory.
Authentic in Worship
Our gathered worship is centred on God and shaped by Scripture. Through singing, prayer, Scripture reading, and preaching, we aim to worship with reverence, joy, and sincerity.
Fervent in Fellowship
Grace Baptist Church is not just a place we attend, but a people to whom we belong. We seek to cultivate genuine fellowship marked by love, hospitality, encouragement, and shared life in Christ.
Consistent in Caring
We believe that caring for one another is a shared responsibility. While our elders shepherd the church, every member is called to bear one another’s burdens and to show practical love and compassion.
Living on Mission
The gospel is good news meant to be shared. As members, we seek to live faithfully as witnesses to Christ in our everyday lives; at home, at work, at school and in our communities. We aim to be a church where member is a missionary.

What Do We Believe?
We believe (1) that the Holy Scriptures consist of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments; (2) that the Spirit of God so influenced the authors that these writings are the Word of God; (3) that because of the divine origin and inspiration of its words, the Scriptures are true in all that they affirm, are trustworthy and without error; (4) that these Scriptures are the complete and only written revelation of God to people; (5) that every translation that is faithful to the originals and responsibly interpreted clearly reveals those truths necessary for our salvation, godly living, and maturity in Christ; and (6) that Scripture alone is our sufficient and final authority in all matters of belief and practice.

We believe (1) that in the beginning God by the power of His Word created all things visible and invisible in six literal days according to Scripture and took delight in it all; (2) that He specially created humankind male and female as His image bearers endowing each with a dignity and calling of equal worth to enjoy fellowship and communion with Him and to govern and care for His creation; (3) that human life is sacred to God and begins at conception, and should not be taken by a human at any stage; (4) that sexual identity is sacred to God and not a matter of preference. Accordingly, He has created only two genders: male (understood as a natural man) and female (understood as a natural woman) and that God alone assigns the gender of all persons without conferring to humankind the right to choose how they identify. Adherence to this stated principle of sexual identity is an inherent requirement for membership; (5) that God has created marriage to be an exclusive and lifelong union between a natural man and a natural woman in the confines of lawful matrimony and any form of sexual activity is be enjoyed exclusively within the confines of such lawful matrimony. Adherence to this stated principle of sexual behaviour is an inherent requirement for membership; and (6) that He has created men and women with different roles, giving to men the responsibility of loving leadership in both the home and the church, and to women the role of compatible support.

We believe (1) that the historic fall of man from his original righteousness was the result of the one sin of Adam as head and representative of the human race; the first man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical and spiritual; (2) that as a consequence of Adam’s sin, all humans inherit a sinful nature, corrupted in every part, which results in actual transgression and personal guilt and are under the wrath of God and subject to eternal punishment of sin in Hell; (3) that sin is any lack of conformity to, or the transgression of, the law of God and is rebellion against God; and (4) that Sin was originated in Satan who exists personally and is totally evil, living in enmity towards God and humanity.

We believe (1) that when the time was right, the eternal Son of God took on human nature, and was made like us in every way, yet without sin; (2) that after being conceived of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the virgin Mary; that He was named Jesus, meaning ‘The LORD’s salvation’. We believe (1) that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, perfectly obedient to His Father in every way, and ushers in the promised Kingdom of God in all His words and deeds; (2) that, most importantly, He offered up Himself as the perfect substitutionary and atoning sacrifice for sinners, triumphing over sin, death, and all the forces of evil, and purchasing for Himself a people out of every tribe, language, and nation; (3) that on the cross the Son of God received in His person the due penalty of God’s wrath against our sin, and (4) that His shed blood is the sole basis for our salvation and the greatest revelation of the glory of the grace of our God.

We believe (1) that the Holy Spirit is the Lord, the giver of life, who formed the world, empowered certain individuals for God’s purposes, and who speaks in the Holy Scriptures; (2) that God anointed Jesus Christ with the Spirit for His ministry and that the Spirit was given to the Church at Pentecost to indwell, lead, and unite believers, gifting each of them for various works of service; (3) that the Holy Spirit is given to the believer at conversion and that Baptism of the Holy Spirit takes place at this point; therefore, no second Baptism of the Holy Spirit is to be expected; (4) that the Holy Spirit glorifies Christ, gives understanding of the Word, convicts people of their sin, unites believers to Jesus, and forms the character of Christ within them; and (5) that the Spirit pours the love of God into our hearts, enables prayer and witness, and seals the believer for the day of redemption.

We believe (1) that through the call of God in the Gospel message, all who receive Christ Jesus as Saviour and Lord are born again by the Holy Spirit, becoming a new creation in Christ; (2) that through faith in Him, sinners have the forgiveness of sins and are declared righteous on the grounds of His shed blood; (3) that repentance is a condition and indication of this salvation and a sign of the inner work of the Holy Spirit toward holiness without which no one will see the Lord; (4) that by virtue of their union with Christ, believers share in all the benefits of grace that are in Him, including the adoption as sons and the gift of the Holy Spirit; and (5) that all who turn from their sin, trusting Christ, may have the assurance that they will be kept and accepted by Him.

We believe (1) that the Church is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, reconciled to the Father, and thereby to each other; (2) that this Church is the people of God, the body of Christ and the temple of the Holy Spirit, through whom God’s purpose in history is made known; (3) that the local church, as a manifestation of the universal Church, is a community of believers in a particular place where God’s Word is preached and practiced, the two ordinances are observed, and church discipline is exercised; (4) that in the local church both men and women are called to serve equally, but male headship should be evidenced and because of this, the preaching and teaching of the Word to the congregation is a responsibility given to men; (5) that Pastor and Elder refer to the same office. God has reserved the office of Elder/Pastor exclusively for Biblically qualified men who conduct their ministry in a plurality to equip the body for works of ministry; (6) that each local church is ruled by Jesus Christ, governed by its members, led by its shepherds (Elder/Pastor), and served by its deacons; and (7) that all members of the church are to exercise their spiritual gifts for the benefit / edification of the whole church body.

We believe (1) that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed only two ordinances – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper – to be observed as acts of obedience and as witnesses to the essential facts of the Christian faith; (2) that Baptism is to be done once and is the immersion of professing believers in water as a public confession of identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, (3) that the Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the bread and the cup, symbolising the Saviour’s broken body and shed blood in remembrance of and a perpetual witness to His death, until He comes again; and (4) that both ordinances are symbolic in nature and do not grant salvation to the believer.

We believe (1) in the bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous; (2) that all people will appear before God’s judgement seat to receive their due for the things done while in the body; (3) that those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter into eternal life, but the unrighteous – those who have rejected the offer of salvation in Christ – into eternal condemnation – that is everlasting separation from God and everlasting punishment in Hell; and (4) according to God’s promise we look forward to a new Heaven and a new Earth in which righteousness dwells, and the time when we will forever be with the Lord, and He with us. “Come Lord Jesus Come!” Amen.
